Project Predaking (Part 2) - Razorclaw

Razorclaw, leader of the Predacons. He despises the unnecessary expenditure of energy and resources. He is preternaturally patient, always waiting for the best moment to strike...

Here's the beautiful spec card.

This lion looks much better with the stickers applied and details highlighted. I find yellow eyes does not stand out on a golden face, so I applied the optional eye stickers for this cool, 'preternaturally patient' kitty.

This lion is always so happy when he gets to go to the park...

Project Predaking (Part 1) - Rampage

Yay! Got hold of a Predaking (2010 re-issue) at a good price! When I got hold of this beautiful box, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight. It's heavy! Full of G1 die-cast goodness ;)

Wikipedia list Rampage as "little more than a raging psychopath", in a constant state of rage that leaves even the other Predacons afraid of him. Rather oddly, there is one way of keeping Rampage under control - he is easily distracted by mindless television entertainment. Hmmm... this can describe any of my 3 friends...

Here's the beautiful spec card.

As usual, I use a Gundam marker to highlight his mechanical tiger features. Btw, he's the only tiger I know without stripes.

His waist is very tight, I had to open him up and cut off a length of the ratchet spring. Now I'm pleased to present the psychopath Rampage with all his stickers applied.

After highlighting Rampage's beast-mode head, I still find it too red for my liking. Ended up, I took out my white paint and painted the fangs white. I also highlighted the nose a bit, though it didn't turn up well in the pics.

DMK01 - Optimus Prime (Part 3)

I'm been slack. These pictures were taken last December and the completed model is currently on my table collecting dust.

The insanely complex torso.

The details are mind-boggling and with a bit of panel lining, dry brushing and obsessive compulsiveness (;p) the details come out beautifully.

Here are some more pics of this amazing kit.

DMK 01 - Optimus Prime (Part 2)

Here are some progress pics after days of experimenting with black panel wash and painting of chrome silver and gold on the various hydraulic pistons of this beautiful kit.

I must say the hand wasn't well designed. Although the individual digits mimics the human hand, they tend to become loose and fall off if you move them. I decided to use a heated flat head screwdriver to melt the protruding joints so that they form permanent rivet joints. I didn't do a good job with the left hand digits though.

Here's a pic of the left hand after painting and dry brushing with silver.

And here is a pic of the leg portion. Ya, ya, I know most of the details will be hidden after I fix the armour pieces, but heck, I know they are there ;p

This is the end result after working on this kit after work for the past 2 weeks.

DMK 01 - Optimus Prime (Part 1)

It's been a while since I last build a model kit. After reading the raving reviews on various TF forums, I decided to get it despite the exhorbitant price point. So without further ado, here's the DMK (Dual Model Kit) 01 - 1/35 scale Optimus Prime!

And the internal details are incredible! I have a good time doing panel wash and highlighting the details.

Here are some progress pics...

Kabaya Weirdwolf

I remember supermarkets used to carry candy toys in the form of WWII planes, tanks and ships. I loved those! Occasionally, I would chance upon transformers. That was the time when my daily allowance was too little to speak of.

And here's my fav Kabaya Headmaster! (I have a total of 2) :(
Oh, only recently do I know this little guy is called Weirdwolf ;p

Head On!!

As you can see, this guy carries quite a backpack! Here's his good friend.
